Lauren Luke Makeup Brushes

First of all could I just start of by saying that i'm not paid or sponsored by Lauren Luke or anybody else to do this or ay other reviews, just to get that out there :)

As you are probably aware, Youtube sensation Lauren Luke aka Panacea81 brought her own line of Makeup Brushes out;
Large Powder Brush,
Foundation Brush,
Flat Contour Brush,
Blending Eye Shadow Brush,
Tapered Blending Brush,
Flat Eye Shadow Brush,
Pencil Brush and
Angled Liner Brush.

I'll go through each brush individualy, tell you the prices, where to get them and there'll be a picture of each brush (can I just point out that I AM aware they are dirty I took the pictures after I'd used them today.) Each brush is beautifully designed with a pinky-goldish ferrule and a sleek, glossy black handle with Lauren Luke's name printed on each one.
I have each brush except the pencil brush so I'll leave that out as I haven't used it so I'm not able to provide any feedback on it.

So lets start off with the Large Powder Brush:
First of all can I just say that I LOVE this brush! (Theres a chance I may say this about each brush haha) I got this brush about 3/4 months ago and fell in love with it the second I took it out of its wrapper. It is super soft, there was no smell to my brush which I've found other brands to have, it is made from real hair (goat hair it says on the website) which some people may disagree with but it doesnt bother me if im honest. I've washed this brush probably only three times and yes I know you're supposed to wash your brushes like once a week or something but in all honesty I dont feel the need to wash this brush so often! The brush shed maybe four or five hairs the first time it was washed which isn't a problem what so ever, thats what happens with brushes! The other times its been washed the shedding reduces each time, I washed it on Sunday and it didnt shed at all which is brilliant!
I use this brush for setting my foundation with a pressed powder although today I used it with a loose setting powder which I bought yesterday and it worked great with that! I also use this to apply a light wash of bronzer to my face if I'm looking a bit pale!
All of these brushes are available direct from Lauren Luke's website www.laurenluke.com/shop and this brush is availble at the amazing price of £6.50. For a brush of this quality for such a low price it is a definite must!

Next up is the Foundation Brush:So again, I LOVE this brush! Haha i'm sorry but I do! Its so unusual and I couldn't resist purchasing it. I wasn't a fan of applying my foundation with a brush, I bought a foundation brush years ago (just the normal flat one) I used it maybe two or three times and returned to applying my foundation with my fingers. So when I seen this brush I just had to buy it after seeing such great reviews and i'll be honest; I don't think i'll ever look back! I just love the perfect finish it gives my foundation, the shape of this brush makes it so easy to get around the whole of your face ie round the nose, under the eyebrows etc and it is so easy to blend with aswell! I didn't think I'd find a foundation brush I liked enough to use it every day and I really have.
I bought this brush the same time I got the Large Powder Brush but I haved washed it a lot more I promise! This brush gets washed probably every week give or take a day or two. Again this brush did shed a little on the first wash but only two or three hairs and hasn't shed since! It is a little harder to wash than the powder brush but I think this is due to the fact foundation is a lot harder to wash out than powder I don't think its the brush itself that is difficult to wash. This brush is made with synthetic hair and is unbelievably soft for a foundation brush.
The Foundation Brush is availble at the bargain price of just £6.00 which again is utterly amazing for the quality of the brush.

Next up we've got the Flat Contour Brush:This brush has multiple functions. I use this brush for applying blush to my cheeks, highlighting the top of my cheekbone, the bridge of my nose and depending on my mood if I want to contour my face I also use this brush for that. Again it is super soft and such a pretty little brush (yes I called a brush pretty!) Its just so petite and precise for a blusher brush which at first I didn't think I would like and if I'm honest I was a bit disappointed in its size but my thoughts have definitely changed and now I think its perfect! It picks up a perfect amount of product and if you do get too much this brush blends out colour great.
I haven't had this brush as long as the powder and foundation brush, I bought this maybe about four weeks ago and I have to admit i've only washed it the once. Again, it shed but nothing major and like the powder brush I think this will decrease with each wash. This brush is made from real hair (goat hair).
This brush is availble at a very affordable price of £5.25

Next we have the Tapered Blending Brush:The clue is in the name for this brush; it is used to blend out any harsh lines from your eyeshadow or to blend colours together. I use this brush every day but I use it to apply the darker colour on the crease of my eye and then I blend out with the brush that you'll see next. I find that this brush is a lot more sparse than I like but I do know many people prefer this over a dense brush which is what I like to use to blend out. If this brush is clean I will use it to apply a highlight just on my brow bone so I do get my uses out of it.
Again, I only bought this brush about four weeks ago but I do wash this weekly as I do use it everyday with dark colours so it does need a  freshen up quite often. I didn't notice any shedding from this brush but the hairs are made from natural hair (goat) so it is quite possible that I did miss a white hair go down the plughole! But again if I did it isn't a problem at all.
This brush is available for £4.50 which again is such an amazing and afforable price.

Here we have the Blending Eye Shadow Brush:Oh I LOVE this brush! For years I have hunted for an affordable blending brush that is soft, doesn't scratch and one that keeps it's hairs when I wash it! Finally, I've found one and it was totally 100% worth the wait! I don't have enough words to say how amazing this brush is so you'll just have to take my word for it! I use this to blend eyeshadow together, blend out any harsh lines, apply one wash of colour on the lids if I just want a simple look and to apply highlight to the cupids bow on my top lip.
It is made from natural hair (goat) and it is unbelievably soft, it isn't harsh on the delicate skin of your eyes it is just amazing!
I bought this brush at the same time as the powder and foundation brushes so about 3/4 months ago and like the tapered blending brush I wash this weekly as I use it daily with dark colours. I prefer this brush over the tapered brush as I find it more dense which I find better at blending out colour but that is just my personal preference. Again, I didn't notice any shedding and I was looking as carefully as I could!
This brush is available for the amazing price of £4.50 which is such a bargain for a brush of this quality, as are all of these brushes!

Next up is the Flat Eye Shadow Brush:This brush has multiple functions; packing the colour onto the eyelid, apply highlight to the browbone and it is also able to blend out any harsh lines. Again, like the other brushes, this brush is super soft and made from natural hair (goat). I use this brush to pack a light wash of colour on my eyelid and it picks up the colour superbly, with the hair being white its easy to see how much colour you're picking up.
I bought this brush around four weeks ago although I don't wash brush as often as I probably should and as often as the blending brushes due to the fact I only use light colours with this brush. When I first washed this brush I did notice maybe one or two hairs shedding which is usual but the second time I washed it I didn't notice any shedding from the brush at all.
This brush is available for £4.00 which again is such an affordable price for a brush of this quality.

And last but not least is the Angled Liner Brush:I LOVE this brush for applying dark shadow to my eyebrows in place of an eyebrow pencil as I find it a much more natural and easier application. It is also ideal for applying gel liner to the eyelid due to its precise and thin bristles which is what I also use it for. I have bought many angled liner brushes over the years and they have either been too scratchy on my eyes or the bristles have been too thick to apply a thin line of liner so this brush works perfectly. As it is made from synthetic hair I wasn't expecting it to be as soft as it is so it was a big suprise when I opened it and realised how soft it actually is!
I bought this brush about 3/4 months ago and I use it daily for my eyebrows so I wash this brush weekly aswell. I didn't find any shedding with this brush which just makes this brush even more perfect!
This brush is the cheapest brush of the set for just £3.25 but the quality is just as amazing as the other brushes.

Overall I am totally and completely over the moon with these brushes. I have hunted high and low for years for affordable makeup brushes that will last me a long time as I cannot afford MAC makeup brushes but I feel now that I dont even mind that I dont have actual top of the range brushes as to me, the quality of these brushes really are comparable to MAC (I've seen reviews where they're compared to Sigma but I have felt a Sigma brush so I cannot make this comment) however I used to find myself in MAC stores feeling the brushes and torturing myself that I couldn't buy them.. Since I've had these Lauren Luke brushes I haven't felt a MAC brush since! Haha. I love these brushes and I will definitely be purchasing more of them for presents, to use on friends and to have in as back-ups.

Again, these brushes are available from www.laurenluke.com/shop and are available to buy as indiviuals at the prices shown above or as a complete set for £33.75

Hope you found my review helpful, please leave comments if there's anything I've left out and you wish to know :)
